Lakewood Ranch just added one of the biggest lifestyle amenities in its history. Life Time, the national athletic country club brand, opened its Lakewood Ranch club on October 12, 2026. It is the company's first ground-up athletic country club in the Tampa-Sarasota region, its second on the Gulf Coast and its eighth in Florida.
For residents, it means resort-style fitness, pools and pickleball close to home. For buyers and relocating families, it is one more reason Lakewood Ranch keeps ranking among the top-selling master-planned communities in the country. Here is what is inside, what it costs, and what it means for real estate.
The club sits at 5000 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. N., Sarasota, FL 34240, south of University Parkway on the Sarasota County side of Lakewood Ranch (Bradenton Herald). It is part of the growing entertainment district along Lakewood Ranch Boulevard, across the road from Urban Air, SkyTrack and Backyard Social, a district expected to be built out by early summer 2027 (Your Observer).
The campus totals more than 180,000 square feet across three main areas (Life Time):
Recovery is a major focus. Members get rejuvenation suites with sauna, steam, whirlpool and cold plunge, plus a recovery zone with HydroMassage, CryoLounge chairs, Normatec compression and Hyperice tools. A LifeClinic with licensed chiropractors is on site, and Kids Academy serves children from 3 months to 11 years.
As of October 2026, Life Time's Lakewood Ranch club page lists adult memberships starting at $339 per month, with no long-term contract and 30 days' notice to cancel. Local reporting cites junior memberships starting at $100 for children ages 3 months to 11 years (Sarasota Herald-Tribune). A Signature tier adds signature group training, earlier reservations and access to other Life Time clubs. Rates can change, so confirm with the club before you join.
It raises the lifestyle bar. Until now, the closest Life Time was at Harbour Island in Tampa. Resort-level fitness, pools and pickleball are now a short drive for Lakewood Ranch residents.
National brands follow population. Life Time's own spokesperson described Lakewood Ranch as a booming market of families in the right demographic. Brands like this invest where long-term demand is strong.
It strengthens the relocation case. Buyers moving from New York, Illinois, Michigan and California often expect this level of amenity. Lakewood Ranch now offers it close to home, with Florida's tax advantages on top.
It complements, not replaces, club communities. Many Lakewood Ranch neighborhoods include their own amenity centers or golf club memberships. Life Time gives buyers in non-club neighborhoods a high-end option without a club equity fee.
Lakewood Ranch held the No. 2 spot nationally for new home sales through the first half of 2026 (Sarasota Magazine), and amenities like Life Time are part of why buyers keep choosing it.
If you are buying in Lakewood Ranch, compare the total cost of ownership. A Life Time membership is month to month and can be cancelled. A golf or country club community usually bundles amenities into dues, CDD assessments or required memberships tied to the home. Neither is better for everyone. It depends on how you live.
Our cost of ownership guides break down the real numbers for Lakewood Ranch Country Club, Country Club East, The Lake Club and Wild Blue at Waterside, so you can compare them side by side with a Life Time membership.

Life Time Lakewood Ranch opened on Monday, October 12, 2026, at 6 a.m. It is located at 5000 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. N., Sarasota, FL 34240, on the Sarasota County side of Lakewood Ranch.
The full campus covers more than 180,000 square feet. That includes an 86,000-square-foot athletic country club building, a beach club of nearly 50,000 square feet and a pickleball retreat of nearly 50,000 square feet.
Fourteen courts in total: three indoor and eleven outdoor.
As of October 2026, Life Time lists adult memberships starting at $339 per month, and local reporting cites junior memberships from $100 for children ages 3 months to 11 years. Memberships are month to month. Pricing can change, so confirm current rates with the club.
Yes. It is the first Life Time in the Sarasota-Manatee area and the company's first ground-up athletic country club in the Tampa-Sarasota region. It is Life Time's second Gulf Coast club, after Harbour Island in Tampa, and its eighth in Florida.
A destination amenity like Life Time strengthens the lifestyle case for living in Lakewood Ranch, especially for active buyers and families relocating from the Northeast and Midwest. It is one factor among many. School zoning, commute, community fees and the specific neighborhood still drive individual home values.
