Parrish
Parrish, Florida, is an unincorporated community in northwestern Manatee County. It is part of the North Port–Sarasota–Bradenton Metropolitan Statistical Area and home to the Florida Railroad Museum, which offers weekend train rides to Willow.
Parrish's history dates back to 1850, when William B. Hooker and William H. Johnson established the Oak Hill plantation. After changing hands, Crawford Parrish, a rancher and orange farmer from Georgia, purchased the land in 1868. The Parrish Post Office was established in 1879, briefly changing the town's spelling to "Parish" until it was corrected in 1950. Originally an agricultural hub, Parrish has seen significant residential growth since the late 2000s.
